Ok, I have no idea how some random war dude ended up with my diary, but from the diary entry he wrote, it explains a lot. I lost my diary on the road when I was riding my horse to somebody's house, but it must have fallen out somehow. I came back to look if it was there, but of course, it wasn't. I think the moral of the two sentences I wrote is: DON'T PICK UP LOST THINGS ON THE GROUND AND STILL KEEP IT EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW WHO IT BELONGS TO WHEN HER NAME IS ON THE FRONT PAGE IN BIG LETTERS! Sorry, I usually use run on sentences when I get angry.
Anyways, I found out he got his hands on it when I saw him writing in it during one of the wars, but he was generous enough to give it back.
But today was the most tragic day; THAYENDANEGEA DIED!!!!! But also, his friend died too, his name was... Oh yes, Tecumseh. My best friend (and his friend) passed away!! Well, the reason Tecumseh died was because.. you know that guy Brock was talking about? It was... Oh yes, that Henry fellow. Yes, he was being stubborn at the time, and abandoned Tecumseh and his troops, so... ya, I think you're catching on... He died. Although I wasn't really sure how he did; his sons sent me a letter I think the month after or something about the news. I mean, couldn't they keep me updated sooner?! Ohh... I better go find a new one... Well, Brock and I have been getting along... Well, I better go make it official...
October 31, 1812
Isaac woke up at 4 o'clock today because he heard gun shots. I was about to explain to him that it was just his alarm clock, but he said that he 'had other problems,' so he had no time to 'chit chat.' I mean, crazy right?! Anyways, he gathered a few men and led them up Queenston Heights. Coincidentally, there were Americans there. Anyways, on the way up the hill, he got shot in the chest and died. It was so emotional; I cried, like, forever! Almost a minute or something. But despite the fact that he stole my diary, he still have it back and we became best friends. WHY DOES EVERY THING ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?! I mean, first Thayendanegea, and now Brock?
Anyways, Brock's troops withdrew from the battle to wait for reinforcements.
Finally around mid-afternoon, reinforcements came. The British were led by Sheaffe and Haudenosaunee led by my friend, Thayendanegea's youngest son, Ahchooah...Ahyou...Ah... Hold on, I'll be right back. OK, Ahyouwaighs. But he told me to call him 'John Brant,' but...it's not catching on. Oh yes, and Thayendanegea's English name is Joseph. But like again, IT'S NOT CATCHING ON!
Well, I'm getting way off topic right now, back to the battle; somehow, Sheaffe and Ahyou and their other forces invaded America so they withdrew. WOOHOO! But that was just the first battle. I have a feeling there are many more to come. There are always many more to come, trust me.
Well, that's it for now.
Love,
Kristen Taylor
