Soldiers, captains, and lieutenants and all those other war guys wanted to be recognized for their royalty to Britain (and North America). So all the survivors were each given land grants. Some of the land came from the people guilty of treason that I've mentioned earlier. But the amount of space given was depended on their rank and the length that they served.
That's all the news I have today, but I am positive that I'll have some more tomorrow.
Dear Diary,
Haha! I kept my promise. Alright, here it is: John Strachan started something called the Loyal and Patriotic Fund. The wives of the members in the army that passed away were given small pensions. I'm guessing pension is some kind of money or payment... The amount of money they received depended on how long their husband served for the military, and also their rank.
And one last thing.
For the First Nations, since the British remained in peace, they didn't need the First Nations' support in battle. The First Nations thought they were going to be payed by a promise of a territory of their own, but they never got it. British. Try not to trust them too much.
I guess this will be my last diary entry because I'm almost running out of pages, so I'm deciding to put 2 paintings I made on some of the battles in the War of 1812. I hope they become famous one day...
The Battle of Queenston Heights
The Battle of New Orleans
Love,
