Diary Entry: 17

July 24, 1814
Dear Diary,
Another war started. It's so disturbing and bloody; I think it's the deadliest battle on Canadian soil... When will it ever end?! I mean, it's been... Oh, 10 minutes. But it seems like a long time if you are watching a bunch of men shooting each other. It's very repetitive. But to speed time up, I'm going to time how long the battle lasts; just for curiosity.

*5 hours later*

Finally the war ended. It's been about time. I was concerned it would never end. Although it was really confusing to me. Nobody won, well, at least from my point of view. 

They mostly fought in darkness (at night) with Niagra Falls thundering in the background. It was outrageous! British soldiers would fire at their own men. But also, the Americans would bayonet their own forests in the dark forest.

July 25, 1814 

Dear Diary,

The Americans withdrew from the battle, and built Fort Erie. The British prepared for the next battle, but the Americans never came. Finally, both sides claimed victory, but clearly, nobody won this battle.
